He Was The First Black WWE World Champion
Johnson began wrestling for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), then known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWE), back in 1996. After just two years, he won his first championship, earning himself the distinction of being the first Black world champion. In total, he has 10 world champion titles.
His marital status
The actor is married to his longtime love Lauren Hashian.
Johnson posted a picture on his official Instagram account showing the pair dressed in wedding finery and arms raised in celebration on a rise overlooking the ocean in Hawaii.
“We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed),” the caption read.
The star tagged his new wife in the photo as well as his former brother-in-law Hiram Garcia, who heads up the production company founded by Johnson and his ex-wife, Dany Garcia.
He’s a father, an actor and a wrestler.
Johnson is aged 47, and Hashian his wife is 34, and they are the parents of two daughters: Jasmine who is 3years of age and Tiana who is 1year old. He has an 18-year-old daughter, Simone, from his marriage to Garcia.
Dwayne Douglas Johnson, also known by his ring name The Rock, is an American actor, producer, retired professional wrestler, and former American football and Canadian football player. He was 2nd May 1972 (age 49 years) in Hayward, California, United States
He has his eye on politics
Having checked off so many fields, could Johnson eventually move into the world of politics? Maybe. It’s no accident that every episode of Young Rock starts and ends with Johnson playing himself being interviewed by a journalist, played by Randall Park, as he’s running for president in 2032. In fact, back in 2017, he said, “I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted. Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer.”
That wasn’t the only time he expressed that pull to the White House. “I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring,” he told GQ in 2016. “And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.”
He’s A Third Generation Wrestler
It turns out that for the Johnson family, wrestling and superstardom is in their blood. His father was Rocky “Soulman” Johnson, the original Rock.
Similarly, Dwayne Johnson’s grandfather Peter Maivia was an NWA Hawaii Heavyweight champ and made history with his partner Tony Atlas in 1983 when they became the first African-American pair to win the World Tag-Team Championship.
However, it was Dwayne Johnson’s father who instilled in his ten year old son an insane and unshakable work ethic. During their intensely rigorous wrestling training sessions, Rocky would say to his boy “If you throw up go outside and if you want sympathy go home to your mother… but either way you’re gonna work you’re a** off to earn your respect.”
