Since stepping down from senior royal duties in 2020, the Sussexes have become increasingly political and during a keynote address at the UN on Monday, Prince Harry called the Roe v Wade ruling on abortion a “global assault on democracy and freedom”.
Traditionally, members of the Royal Family remain apolitical, therefore, political commentator Nile Gardiner has argued that the Sussexes should have their titles removed as speaking out on political issues “undermines the monarchy”.
The former aide to Margaret Thatcher tweeted: “By launching political interventions like this, Harry is fundamentally undermining the Monarchy, which is no doubt exactly what his boss Meghan demands.
“It is staggering how Harry and Meghan still retain their royal status. Their titles should be removed.”
