See Emilia Clarke Replace Amber Heard As DCEU Mera In Aquaman 2!!

Emilia Clarke 1

A brand new concept design imagines Emilia Clarke replacing Amber Heard as the DCEU’s Mera for the upcoming Aquaman sequel.

Amber Heard assumed the role of Mera in 2017’s Justice League, before making a larger splash in the solo Aquaman film which hit cinemas the following year. Heard’s performance as the DCEU’s Mera was widely praised all across the board. Due to behind-the-scenes issues, some fans assumed that the DCEU would recast Heard for the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Those assumptions didn’t pan out as the film recently wrapped, with Heard once again on board as Mera.

One of the most popular fan castings to replace Amber Heard was Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. The star previously worked with Aquaman star Jason Momoa on the HBO fantasy series, making her perfect for the DCEU. While we won’t be seeing Clarke in the lead role as Mera, a new concept design from Valentin Romero imagines the British actress as Heard’s DCEU replacement.

As great as the concept design is, Amber Heard is pretty much locked in as Mera for future DCEU projects. It would be interesting to see Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa share the screen again, so it would be great to see her pop up in Aquaman 3, perhaphs as a villain?

Here is the synopsis for the first Aquaman film:
