he Queen has thrown an olive branch to Prince Harry just days after the birth of his daughter.
The Duke of Sussex has found himself outside the Royal fold after leaving formal duties and living in the US with wife Meghan Markle.
However, after the birth of her latest great-grandchild, the Queen has taken a step towards repairing the relationship, according to reports.
She has invited Prince Harry for lunch at Windsor Castle, sources claim, in what will be their first private meeting since he quit the Royal Family.
They claim it will be a “chance to talk things through” as he flies back to the UK for the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue next month.
This comes after the birth of his daughter Lillibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor – a name often used for the Queen inside Royal circles.
According to a courtier speaking to the Mail : “It’s a typically magnanimous gesture by Her Majesty. “The lunch will be a chance for them to talk things through.”
The invitation for lunch by Her Majesty was made before the birth of Meghan and Harry’s daughter on Friday, according to reports.
And this will be the first time Harry has had a sit down chat with his grandmother since he and Meghan quit as senior royals in 2020.
Meghan is expected to stay behind at the couple’s £11 million mansion in Montecito, California, with baby Lilibet and their two-year-old son, Archie.
Harry’s relationship with the family was laid bare by an interview with Oprah in which he revealed he rarely speaks to his father. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson declined to comment.
