Trump fires back: Elon Musk would have dropped to his knees and begged if I’d told him to

The war of words between Donald Trump and Elon Musk is continuing, with the former hitting back after the latter implied that Trump should retire, following reports claiming that he is considering another bid for the presidency in 2024.

The former president took to social media to claim that Musk visited him at the White House to ask for the government’s help with his ongoing projects.

“Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidised projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless,” Trump wrote.

“He told me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican.

“I could have said ‘drop to your knees and beg’ and he would have done it.”

Elon Musk’s response to Donald Trump’s claim

In response to the former US president, Musk tweeted “Lmaooo”, which means “laughing my ass off.”

Why are Donald Trump and Elon Musk arguing?

The whole saga kicked off when Trump called Musk a “bulls**t artist” after the latter claimed that he had never voted for the Republican party until June.

“You know he said the other day ‘I’ve never voted for a Republican’,” Trump said at an event in Alaska.

“He told me he voted for me.

“He’s another bulls**t artist, but he is not going to be buying [Twitter].”

Unimpressed by Trump‘s remarks, Musk took to Twitter to respond by claiming that Trump should retire instead of contemplating running for president again.

Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America,” Musk wrote.

“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail into the sunset.

“Dems should also call off the attack. Don’t make it so that Trump‘s only way to survive is to regain the presidency.”
